This anthology of tales gives us tales of youngsters who display the powers traditionally associated with witches and their male counterparts, warlocks. The range of authors goes from the incredibly well known (Ray Bradbury), through to others I know as Science Fiction authors (William Tenn, Zena Henderson) to the completely unknown (to me at least). One expects magic from Ray Bradbury and you get it with his 'Spring Witch', if not necessarily in the traditional form. Zena Henderson is probably not that well known these days and in my case it's for her 'People' tales, of which 'Stevie and the Dark' isn't one, though it's probably one of the more terrifying entries in this anthology - the editors haven't shied away from rather more adult themes than might be expected from a book aimed at youngsters back in the '80s - not just limited to the Henderson entry either.
