Corinna Chapman is drawn into the troubles of the shop owners when someone begins to spike the chocolates with nasty flavors. A bomb threat, real estate fraud, and a lost kitten are also on the menu. I enjoyed Corinna’s quirky companions but the mysteries were not compelling. It’s also interesting that a book published less than 20 years ago could already feel dated. There are mysterious new residents in the building, problems in the chocolate shop, a missing girl, a suspected bomb, major fraud, a chess game, and death threats. All that in addition to Senior Constable Lepidoptera White, Sister Mary, The Mouse Police, a rescue right out of Sir Walter Scott, and some really dim hired goons. Then there's all the humor.
