This is a really cute book about a kid named Pinky who really wants to get a pet dog. His sister though wants to get a pet cat and she wins the argument and the family gets a cat. Pinky is unhappy with this and tries not to enjoy the cat. He soon comes to find out though that his sister is not a very good caretaker of the cat and the cat comes to like him better. One day though they find out that the cat, named Patches, has run away. The kids look everywhere for Patches but are not able to find her so they give up and go to bed. When Pinky gets into bed he feels something at his feet. It is Patches! She snuck into his bed and fell asleep. Pinky comes to love Patches and his parents are impressed with how well he takes care of her.
This is a beginning reader book.
I think this is a cute funny book that is great especially for families about to get a pet. Pets are a lot more work then they seem. Also Pinky at first does not want a cat but then comes to love her in the end which is really cute.
This is a really great book for children who are just learning to read. It is especially good for children who like animals.
