This cookery book celebrates summer food, focusing on picnics, parties, holidays, barbecues. It contains more than 100 recipes, from barbecued bourbon chicken to beach crab cakes and blueberry bread pudding. It also includes gardening advice, how to cook with herbs and how to remedy bee stings.
Susan Branch's illustrations just make you want to do and make all the things she draws. Especially as I'm writing this in February, when summer seems so far away! Somewhat East Coast-centric but has many ideas and recipes that would work anywhere. ( )
