This is one of our favorite books to look through. The illustrations are bright and colorful, and it's fun to try and find all of the hidden animals in each habitat before turning the page to the big reveal. This book has helped to expand my daughter's animal vocabulary, and piqued her interest to learn more about the animals featured in this book. ( )

While this book does not go into grave detail about the animals and habitats that are listed, it is a great way for kids to begin to think about the way animals interact with their environment and what their adaptations might do for them in their environment.

It is a good example of informational because it illustrates the habitat and habits of different animals.
It is good to teach science to children.

I See a Kookaburra is an information book about animals and their habitats. I suggest reading the intro page to set the purpose for reading this with students. It will also get them excited about this book. This book covers six different habitats from different parts of the world. The first page tells what the habitat and where you can find it in the world. On this page the animals are hidden in the their surroundings. The next page names the hidden animals and what they are doing. At the end of the book there is more information about each animal included in the book. Steve Jenkins and Robin Page use torn paper collages to create the colorful illustrations.
