They’re not great works of fiction, but they are easy to read with just enough mystery and intrigue to keep you interested. This one has a few twists and turns that aren’t all that difficult to figure out beforehand. There is also the usual abrupt ending but I thought it worked well with this story. ( ) Huh. I didn't realize this was a re-release of a book from the 80s. So when I started reading it I was like "why aren't they texting? why does a character say he's going to 'phone' someone? why do they mention going to the 'pictures'?" I was starting to wonder if it was set in the 50s or something? And then the writing just wasn't that good--Twisted Window, you, sir, are no Down A Dark Hall. I just don't have time for this. Abandoned. Received from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I had some uninterrupted time today and decided to catch up on my ARCs because woah am I behind. I think I should have just skipped this one. I remember reading Christoper Pike and RL Stine and the like way back when and actually being slightly creeped out but definitely entertained and like I wanted to read more. This book was pretty predictable, boring and just downright odd from the beginning. I am not sure who I would recommend it for. Pretty much no one. Skip this one if you need some nostalgia and pick up something else. Anything else really. I don’t know what it is about Lois Duncan books that I enjoy so much.
