Fábulas leyendas en el exilio (2002)

I picked this up from the library because it was in the new books area and it was featured on shelves with other staff picks. Being close to the end of the year and needing to fill my GR quote with several more books, I picked it up as a possible fun and quick read, and it was. That said, however, I will probably not explore more of the books in the series as it really isn't my thing and I can see myself getting tired of reading these in just a couple more volumes. ( )

I'm not finished with this yet but I have one prejudice: I hate graphic novels where the interior artwork just isn't up to the story or cover. This is probably the main reason why I haven't finished this. So far the concept seems novel and the story is engaging, but I just can't get past the traditional comic book graphics for such a well reviewed series.

Okay, so I finally finished. I found the back story more interesting than the actual novel. ( )

Fables. Legends in Exile è un retelling molto carino di diverse fiabe in salsa gialla: le creature delle fiabe sono dovute scappare dal loro mondo per venirsi a nascondere nel nostro, dove cercano di adattarsi come possono.

Willingham riesce a imbastire una buona storia, non tanto per l’intreccio del mistero da risolvere, ma perché ci distrae così tanto con il fascino delle creature delle fiabe che senza neanche accorgersene ci ritroviamo a divorare pagine su pagine. Adesso sono molto curiosa di saperne di più di questa storia e ho la mezza idea di continuare la serie. ( )

The concept off these comics is really cool... old fairy tale characters hiding out in their own society modern day new york. Definitely not for kids, considering the language and also some sexual content. ( )
