Жутовской, осуществившей перевод предисловия и комментария на русский язык. Наряду с английским текстом набоковского перевода печатается также древнерусский текст "Слова" в реконструкции Д.С. Лихачева с иллюстрациями Натальи Гончаровой, впервые в полном составе воспроизводимыми с раритетного немецкого издания 1923 г. Этим иллюстрациям посвящена статья О.А. Белобровой и указатель Н.К. From early morn to eve,
and from eve to dawn,
tempered arrows fly,
sabers resound against helmets,

For now, brothers, a cheerless tide has set in;

in the guise of a maiden
