I had to ask myself if I would like any of them. We meet them six days before the execution of Walter Leroy Hines. He was convicted of murdering eight women based on the testimony of one woman who survived...you guessed it, liar Leanne Samples. Fury is a hour by hour, play by play of the unfolding drama. Can they save Hines or did he actually do it because Leanne recanted her recant. The only complaint I have about Fury is the fact that the twist at the end wasn't a twist at all. As soon as the timeline started to count back up you know there is more to the story. Totally predictable. ( )

Jerry Ford and I shop in the same bookshop and I knew him back when he was teaching school and complaining at the shop that 'I can write a better book than these guys' and then he did! His first 6 books featured Detective Leo Waterman. Honestly, I was getting a little tired of Leo. But this book has a new hero - defrocked journalist, Frank Corso. Both his new hero and his new book are top drawer. Full of meaty story and fabulous characters. This is the book that he was talking about originally and he was right. ( )
