Great read about taking care of your pet and the responsibility that goes along with their care. Easy read and a fun read as well. ( ) This is a good example of fantasy, because a dog is interacting with humans and doing activities they would do, such as trying to play in a swimming pool. It is believable enough to children, though, because being hot and needing to cool off during summer is a real world experience. This story is too short to critique the setting, plot, or characters. Clifford is fantasy story because real dogs can not get that large. The activities tha Clifford participates in are not possible other dogs such as diving into a pool and laying on an ice rink. Clifford is a make-believe dog and exaggerates the truth. The character of Clifford is very genuine and sincere. He starts off by being naive to the heat problem. He is unsure how to get cool and looks to others to help him out. By the end Clifford's character developed and he was able to save a families life by being strong in the large dog he was.
