It's not terrible, but the story is disjointed, the fantastical parts are inconsistent, there are several points where a sentence just makes no sense. A few touches of the familiar Andre Norton voice, but nothing particularly striking - and the ending is highly contrived. Readable, that's about all. ( ) A historical romance, with just a touch of the mystic. Persis Rooke and her elderly uncle Augustin are on their way to the Bahamas to claim an old inheritance, when they are shipwrecked on Lost Lady Key. Persis is completely out of her element, and must deal with the death of her uncle, the foreboding and distracting man who is her host, and his flighty teen-aged sister. In addition there is a devilish wrecker, an ancient crone who might be a witch, and the ghost of the Lost Lady, who seems to be interested in Persis. The romance and the mystery work out quite satisfactorily, and there is just enough of the mystery that is left unexplained to pique our belief in the Lost Lady. Enjoyable. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
