It is a long time since I read The Book of Common Dread. All I really remember is closing the book. At the end and taking a fe wmoments to decide whether I should buy the sequel if it were to come out. The answer was yes but only if I happened upon it.

So I found myself launched into this book with little knowledge of what was goinging on. It seems though that Mr. Monahan.is a tell don't show kind of guy. And as one great clanking clunk of exposition after another came my way I soon found my way up to speed. The forces of darkness are directing Vampires in an attempt to recover an ancient document that proves their existence. Meanwhile the chemical powder that turns people into vampires has been analysed. And the vatican have become aware of the danger.

Its all a bit lacklustre ( )
