Snow White is a beautiful princess who takes refuge in the forest living with 7 dwarfs. She has a wicked stepmother who keeps trying to kill her.
This story explores the feelings that we all deal with in everyday life. Snow White experiences kindness, gentleness, and a sense of being clever. This would be a good book for the ages 8 and older to read. The book shows how Snow White over comes being on her own. This is another great classic story with great drawings. Its setting is a castle and the Black Forest. The conflict is that Snow Whites step-mother wants to be the fairest and do whatever is necessary to stay the most beautiful of all.
I would have the children react to the story. I would have them make names for all the 7 dwarfs and draw picture of them. I would have the children write their own version of Snow White in modern times.

Beautiful artwork with a slightly chilling feel, I particularly love the drawing of the queen's bedroom, which is kind indoors and outside at the same time and very unreal. ( )
