A great nonfiction text for elementary and middle school students, this title's reading level is very low and it's high interest. Callahan describes his experience surviving in a life raft for like 70 days after his sailboat sinks; adventures include fighting off sharks and killing fish & birds and eating them raw (I think--it's been a while since I read it). It made an excellent companion to the novel "The Cay" and probably "Hatchet". My kids really enjoyed my brief read-aloud (for a state test "parallel task") and it was read afterward by many of the kids voluntarily. ( ) sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
