I love love love this book. ( )

This has been my favorite so far in the series. I like the way that others in the family and friends have stories going on in these books so that we are interested and ready when the books about those people arrive. In this one though, the author concentrated on just one couple which make the book infinitely better. You really got to know the two main characters. The romance here was hot and sweet at the same time. I appreciated the fact that the author stayed true to her set up. The heroine was a virgin who had asked the older hero to show her all about sex. Of course we know she was really in love with him and hoping that something more would come of it. Anyway the hero, while he was pretty dominate and rough sexually, without being in anyway a Dom, was always aware of her heroine's lack of experience. And the heroine was written realistically as an adventurous girl but one who was still a bit hesitant. The sex scenes seemed realistic in that sense and they didn't do stuff that a young girl just learning about sex would be unsure of.

I loved the ending when the hero was wooing her after he realizes he wants more.

Narrated by Rebecca Estrella. Lots and lots of sex, lots of different character/story arcs. AJ approaches Cord to take her virginity and teach her about sex in her bid to finally get the man she loves. He wants to keep it all sexual and it's very abrupt with no real negotiation. The family dealing with Colt's substance abuse and out of control behavior. The beginnings of some relationships and follow up on others. Mixed feelings on this book.

I really enjoyed Cowgirl Up and Ride. Even though the sex was hot, it was the characters that drew me in. AJ has been in love with Cord since she was 5 years old. Cord has always seen AJ as his kid sister's best friend. AJ, now 22, has decided that she's waited long enough for Cord to notice her and takes matters into her own hands. His reaction when she propositions him is great.

I have to admit that I had a problem with their ages at first; AJ being 22 and Cord being 35. However, my concerns were laid to rest with AJ's maturity. She had to grow up fast and she wasn't a typical 22 year old. She had a good head on her shoulders and I truly admired her for not wanting to settle. She knew what she wanted and wasn't going to have it any other way. Cord had relationship issues since his first wife left him. He didn't want to admit to any feelings for AJ, in case she did the same thing. He wanted to keep things on a purely physical level, but AJ was getting under his skin and he didn't know how to handle it. I think James did a great job dealing with all the ups and downs of their relationship in a realistic manner and I was really rooting for them. I also enjoyed the dynamics of their families and the issues that arose there. This is my favorite of the series so far. ( )

Man, this book was sexy and hot as hell. the story was just like a contemporary romance but with all the sweetness that are these yummy cowboys and their proper manners. I loved that AJ didn't just settle for anything and that she went for exactly what she wanted or it wouldn't be good enough, the girl's got some backbone. And then there's Cord, with all his McKay fame trailing behind, and he was just so sweet and dominant and all around YUM! Great story. ( )
