Very erotic short story with a fun plot but the heroine spent so much time doubting herself which conflicted with her desire to be self indulgent. Research archeologist Dr Kris signs up to be a submissive at a sex resort and runs into her nemesis Jack.

I have to start with saying this is a silly book. A spinsterish 34 feels that life is passing her by and takes her walk on the wild side by going to an island where she will be a sex slave for 3 nights, so that she can have some memories in her old age. At the island, she meets her nemisis and falls in love.
This is erotica, as opposed to porn - the relationship is central to the plot and the HEA, while overdone, is believable (in the world of the book) The heroine, Kris Torrence, suddenly realizes that the only man she wants to touch her is the annoying but macho Jack McKenna, and it's all fun and games with him but more than a little distasteful when other men try to grab hold of her.
This is pure fantasy, there is no reality here. And within the fantasy, it actually works. You feel for Kris, who acknowledges to herself in the quite funny prologue, that she 'has too many damn cats' and that her good girl behavior has made her life boring. And Jack is obsessed with his 'red headed witch' long before he comes to the Island. Once on the island, fun and games ensue. I wouldn't call this a submissive rel at all, despite the image on the cover. It's much more vanilla than that. But it is sweet, and I was happy to spend time with them. Just a warning, this book takes a lot of suspension of disbelief, but once you go with the flow, it carries you along. B+ and this is a reread/keeper for me

This is a great book! Now, I don't have much frame of reference when it comes to these types of novels, but I absolutely loved it. The chemistry between Kris and Jack is very evident even before they see each other on the island. I love how the book focuses a lot on their feelings and reactions to each other during the entire plot, the contests, the auction, etc, instead of just the sexual acts. I will definitely be reading more by this author! ( )
