( ) this is the second time I've read this novel, but I didn't remember it until I was a ways through it.. the first time was a few years ago. (I've read a few books since then. lol) I now understand all the backstory in this novel, all the reasons the characters do the things they do, and the reasons Roe was always so mad at her husband Martin. It's too bad he had to die, at the end of the novel. It hit me only slightly less hard, this time. I have to say, I hate that the husband has do die, in order to further this novel. It's weird, and now the Roe character is all severely depressed. It's difficult to solve murders like that. But I think I will keep reading on... I guess. even though it is a little painful. Why did I finish this book? It was a Monday evening, I was bored, nothing else to read....really, I have no excuse. I like Harris' supernatural series, but despite her story telling skills, this was annoying -- the two main characters (husband and wife) seemed to spend the whole time squabbling, and after a gruesome murder on their property, get a baby dumped on them. Instead of notifying the authorities about the baby, they grumpily take him on a road trip to find his family. The squabbling and resentment were actually pretty well written, but who wants to read about it? sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
