She lives and hangs out with mice! Her secrect is safe, but is later found out and she has to prove that she eats mice just as the other cats do. Mrs. Marlowe's Mice is a very cute story about a widowed cat named Mrs. Elanor Marlowe. She is a librarian who lives in an apartment with a bunch of mice. She keeps the mice safe and they help her by keeping her house sparkling clean. One day the police are called and they are suspicious that Mrs. Marlowe is keeping mice in her house. The cat police end up leaving without finding out that she does keep mice. This is a cute story for kids who love cats but it is a little long for struggling readers. It might be better for a stronger reader but it is still good. It would be a good read-a-loud. Primary or Intermediate This is a good example of fantasy, because the characters are cats and mice functioning in very human ways and it was perfectly proper in the world that has been creator. The animals talk and where cloths. The character of Mrs. Marlowe is static she does not change. She is concerened for her mice friends and friend of them both in the end and in the beginning. Media: acrylics Mrs. Marlowe's job as a librarian keeps her and her harbored mice in cheese and fish, but it's a precarious arrangement -- if anyone finds out that she's a mouse-keeper, she'll be jailed and her mice will be confiscated and more than likely, eaten. When the police-cats come to call, only quick thinking on everyone's part, but particularly Mrs. Marlowe's, will keep the family safe from harm. Lovely illustrations, bit ultimately somewhat disappointing. It ended abruptly. Lots of text, too, which might make it a challenge for sharing effectively with the most appropriate age group for the storyline. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
Mrs. Eleanor Marlowe seems to be a quiet, law-abiding citizen, but she actually leads a daring double life. By day she works at the Purrington Street Library with her fellow cats, but at night she returns home to a family of mice. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
