Fisher provides a decent overview of mazes -- mostly physical manifestations of those paper-based puzzles -- in this short book. There are brief summaries of different types of mazes (including the fun-to-say "maize mazes") and there are several pictures on almost every page to illustrate the text. Fisher designed several of the mazes listed in the book, but he's the only designer noted by name. There's a short bibliography in the back (listing five of Fisher's other books), and a very good listing of mazes in Britain to visit. ( ) sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

Mazes and labyrinths in various forms have been a preoccupation of mankind for thousands of years. This text traces the history of mazes worldwide from the earliest known examples, and then describes those which have been created in Britain's gardens, parks and landscape.
