What I loved most about this picture book was that it explained the way human bodies perform everyday tasks such as breathing, eating and moving but compared them to how fish do these things as well. I found that it was an interesting approach that made it easier for children to understand. I also enjoyed how the fish were labeled throughout the book, so it educates the reader on different species of fish as well. The illustrator created great visual aids by showing labeled body parts of fish and showed how fish breathe with a helpful diagram. At the end, it shows how to create a goldfish bowl and how to properly maintain it. ( )

This book shows many different types of fish in all types of waters. While it is informative, there are also paragraphs that can challenge students. They are not difficult paragraphs, but they could help with students that are learning how to read paragraphs. ( )

This book is perfect for an intermediate reader. It discusses in length the life of a fish. Specifically, their eating habits, all the places they can live, and how they breathe. This picture book includes detailed pictures of how a fish swims. It constantly makes comparison between fish and humans, which for young students is important. it helps them draw their own conclusions. This books even goes as far to show the reader step by step how to bring a fish home from the store and introduce it to it's new aquarium. The main idea of this text what what the life of a fish is like. This was supported by all of the factual information provided, like how a fish swims, breathes, and where they live. ( )
