Summary: Shaquille O'Neal stood in the middle of the basketball court in LA, crying because his team had just won the 2000 NBA championship. Forward to that, he was born in 1972 in New Jersey. His family moved a lot when Shaquille was growing up and each time it was really hard for him to make friends. Shaquille had trouble fitting in, acting out often and got in trouble as a child. To solve this problem. his parents decided that Shaquille needed an outlet. In high school, he decided to go to LSU and play basketball after having an amazing high school career. After one year, Shaquille was a lone star on LSU's basketball team until he got hurt right before the NCAA tournament. After one more year of playing in college, he announced that he was going to play professional basketball. He got drafted in the first round by Orlando Magic and quickly made a name for himself in the basketball world. He kept getting better and better, adding new skills that really made him stand out. He went to LA in 2006 and was named one of the 50 greatest players that same year. The Lakers got a new coach and the team seemed ready to win a championship! This is the year the Lakers won the series, Shaquille for the first time. At the end, Shaquille broke down in tears, saying he's so proud of himself because of how hard he worked and that he finally achieved his goals.

Argument: I think this book was really interesting for children, especially for boys who are really into basketball. Shaquille has a great story that really shows how you can overcome anything and achieve your dreams. He loved basketball from the start and worked hard, becoming better and better every year in order to finally win the NCAA championship. This dedication and perseverance is something that children would really take away from this book. ( )
