Review: This is a good example of historical fiction because the story did not actually happen but the information in the book is accurate and could have actually happened. In fact, Larua is an actual person and her family did have similar experiences to what she writes in her books. Laura is one of three daughters growing up on the American Frontier with their two parents experiencing the trials and difficulties involved in their pioneer lifestyle. ( )
