I was looking for a book to give me a quick biography on Mother Teresa but received much more with David Aikman's Great Souls collection. He found on one virtue the stood out and let the light of that virtue shine through without mentioning it. It was very well written. ( ) This audio book was well written, and entertaining. It provided insight on some folks I already knew well, like Pope John Paul II, and others whom I had heard of, but didn't really know anything of, like Mother Teresea. His Chrsitian charity shines through his journalistic approach, even when trying not to. Aikman did well and made me want to learn more. The physical disk was not good Disc one would not play in a standard MP3 CD player, and when copying to another still didn't, I had to burn to 5 standard CDs and even that didn't quite copy as I'd expect to. As usual, if you really are interested, get the dead tree version. This book consists of short brilliantly written biographies of six people David Aikman considers to be among the most influential of the 20th century. His nominees (and subjects) are Billy Graham (salvation), Nelson Mandela (forgiveness), Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn (truth), Mother Treasa (compassion), Pope John Paul ll (human dignity), and Elie Wiesel (remembrance). He shows both the warts and the halos, and explains why he finds these "souls" not only a personal inspiration, but important historical figures. It is a book that certainly will have me looking for more about every one of the six personages. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
