These books are always wonderful, well written, and perfectly characterized. All of her series are great but the ones that take place on Pern are the best of all. Pern was in mortal danger. For, if dragonriders did not rise to char Thread, the parasite would devour any and all organic life it encountered. The future of the planet rested in the hands of Moreta and the other dedicated, selfless Pernese leaders. But of all their problems, the most difficult to overcome was time. . . . (  ) Gmomaj | Aug 28, 2020 | Just not satisfying, and I'm trying to figure out why. It certainly was well imagined and there was plot and action, but in the end, I failed to care. What is it that hooks our caring? I am so sorry. I wanted to engage with this author and series and it just didn't happen. Loved the story fantastic to see a pandemic is a fantasy/sci-fi setting while we are also living through the COVID 19 pandemic. Great read. (
