Nostalgia read; I originally read this about 30 years ago and was enthralled. Very dated now, but still a fun book to revisit. ( )

I read this book back when I was an early teen & loved it. I still read it again from time to time. Probably not easy to find anymore but worth looking for if you enjoy YA books. This is a book that will stay in my rotation. It's been over 5 years since my last read (it was in my attic) so I will have to update again after my next read! ( )

Teased and harassed eighth graders Barnie and Teresa flee the city and end up at a suburban shopping mall, complete with giant end department store. It seems like a pretty good place to hide out, until...well, I can't reveal the secrets of the shopping mall. Crazy Richard Peck touch on the ending. ( )
