This story, is from the perspective of HUNTER, a minior character from Wing Commander I, and takes place on or around one of the special operations (add-ons) of the aforementioned game. I personally enjoyed this story because of the perspective it takes on another planet under the imperial boot of the Kiltrathi among the backdrop greater theatre of the Terran-Kilrathi War.

***BRIEF SPOILER ALERT***I personally cannot account for the sudden shift of focus (perspective) from the PLAYER character (we learn in the movie and the third game is Christopher Blair, callsign MAVERICK), to HUNTER, and apparently this is the first novel in the saga. ( )

Totally camp. I love it. The novel brings back great memories of childhood fighting the Kilrathi and the Retros. ( )

Fans of the computer game (such as myself) will undoubtedly find this an entertaining read. Science fiction readers that aren't fans of the game, though, might be less enthusiastic about it. It's a light and entertaining read. If you're looking for more thought provoking science fiction, though, you probably want to look elsewhere. ( )
