Tuve este libro en la estantería por un buen tiempo y no se por qué razón no no me inspiraba. intenté un par veces empezarlo y está última me enganchó y lo leí de y tirón. La verdad es que me sorprendió positivamente. El libro va la historia de Dolores, desde que es una niña hasta su edad adulta. Es una historia, de superación,llena de tropiezos, de golpes muy duros ,mucho dolor, sufrimiento y tristeza, que llevan a la protagonista hasta el límite. Pero que afortunadamente con el tiempo y la ayuda de las personas que realmente la quieren ella intenta buscar una forma de ser feliz, de sentirse normal. A veces hay algún que otro fragmento algo pastelón, pero en lineas generales se utiliza un lenguaje crudo. Lo que más me gustó: La historia en sí, el personaje de Dolores a quien a veces te dan ganas de darle una bofetada, pero a la vez no puedes dejar de sentir compasión por ella. Y el final. Lo que menos: Algunos personajes porque resultan poco creíbles. ( )

In one of my earliest memories, my mother and I are on the front porch of our rented Carter Avenue house watching two delivery men carry our brand-new television set up the steps. I'm excited because I've heard about but never seen television. The men are wearing work clothes the same color as the box they're hefting between them. Like the crabs at Fisherman's Cove, they ascend the cement stairs sideways. Here's the undependable part: my visual memory stubbornly insists that these men are President Eisenhower and Vice President Nixon.

A veces hay algún que otro fragmento algo pastelón, pero en lineas generales se utiliza un lenguaje crudo.
