Zen Without Zen Masters by Camden Benares Wow, I am so pleased, somebody out there in the universe must have heard me when I cried out for an easier way to understand the philosophy of Zen. I had tried for years to wrap my already confused mind around the exciting but many times illusive subject and then finally I found this awesome guide to the depth, beauty and magic of Zen. What I fell immediately in love with was the simplicity and the loving quick and easy presentation of the ancient principles. The illustrations were totally appropriate and sure helped to keep my spirit buoyant as I bravely opened the book and was totally and happily surprised. Wonderful situations and logic of the everyday variety helped to bring home the ancient wisdom I had so desperately sought after. I would recommend this book to anyone who like myself seeks a different and more lighthearted way to Zen. Thanks Camden, there really was an easier and softer way. This is the first -- and still the best -- collection of truly contemporary Zen parables. For the novice, this is an outstanding introduction to the baffling world of meditation, Eastern thought and the galaxy of philosophies that make up the expanding horizon of human awareness. For the veteran, Benares integrates the "inner quest" with the experience of daily life. And if that weren't enough, the section on Meditations and Exercises focuses the inner experience into an accessible form. Marked by clarity and simplicity, they demystify the growth process through practical application. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
