Although the collection is rather superfluous (as all of this material is collected in Voltaire's "Philosophical Dictionary"), this is still an interesting entry into the world of made up lexicography. While much of the work may feel dated to modern readers, Voltaire touches on more than enough universal truths to make this an quick and interesting read. A personal favorite, from the entry for "Ignorance": "Some there are who are so ashamed of all they do not know that they strive to disguise themselves either as wits or philosophers."
