While 4 of the plays, Celestina, Fuente Ovejuna, Trickster of Sville, and Life is a Dream, are classics available elsewhere, the other two, Calderon's Love after Death and (set during the Moorish, are surprisingly sympathetic to Moorish grievances) and Cervante's Siege of Numantia,
(a Roman tragedy by the author of Quixote, well known in Spanish and French but not in English) are more unusual and very interesting. It is also of interest to Inklings fans that all the plays except Celestina are translated by the English Catholic Fascist poet Roy Campbell, who is said to have influenced Tolkien's conception of Aragorn, and who was addressed in 2 poems by C.
