My favorite (so far) is Plumb Pudding (page 38), although I believe that's more Rum than I could drink. I could try, though. I regret not purchasing two copies, but that's easily remedied. It's a great book, running the gamut from honest laughter to tasty cinnamon cookies. ( ) sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

The Bakery Men Don¿t See is a collection of fabulous recipes¿and more. It includes valuable cooking tips, like ¿Never fry bacon with your shirt off.¿ It provides timely advice on how to adapt a fruit crisp recipe for varying political tastes: ¿Take into consideration any special-interest groups, such as 5-year-olds.¿It¿s also a slice of science fiction history. Included are the 1991 WisCon Guest of Honor speeches by Pamela Sargent and Pat Murphy. In her speech, Pat announced the creation of the James Tiptree, Jr. Memorial Award. Named for Alice B. Sheldon, who wrote under the pseudonym James Tiptree, Jr., the award is presented annually to works of science fiction or fantasy that explore and expand our understanding of gender.Shortly after the award was announced, Diane Martin and Jeanne Gomoll published The Bakery Men Don¿t See, and initial sales raised the prize money that was then awarded in 1992 to the first Tiptree winners, Eleanor Arnason and Gwyneth Jones. The title recalls James Tiptree Jr.¿s famous story ¿The Women Men Don¿t See.¿ A second cookbook, Her Smoke Rose Up From Supper, published in 1993, takes its name from Tiptree¿s ¿Her Smoke Rose Up Forever.¿ No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
