This famous story of the gingerbread man who runs away incorporates many other fairy tale characters. This book includes, Humpty Dumpty, Little Boy Blue, The Old Woman Who Lived In a Shoe, and Little Miss Muffet. I have read and heard of the other characters in their own stories, but never together. The gingerbread man was used to running away from the people who said they wanted to eat him, that he didn't realize that when the fox said he wanted to help, he was really only thinking of a plan to eat the gingerbread man without him knowing. The language uses repetition which can be fun for young readers to participate in. The use of "run, run as fast as you can, you can't catch me, I'm the gingerbread man," is a famous quote that many people know, even if they have never read the story before. ( ) I've never actually heard the story of the gingerbread man. I've only seen him in Shrek but never knew his story till now. The author has the gingerbread man running away from the other folktale characters. I liked this because this made me want to read about about Humpty Dumpty and The Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe. As the gingerbread man runs away from more characters, the author adds a picture of that character to the page, so each page another character is being added. It was a creative book. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
