I really enjoy reading books about the extraordinary, and the life lead by Rabbi Porath is extraordinary. Spending his life dedicated to reigniting the faith of those, particularly in Russia, this whole book is about the different travels the Rabbi made going from his home to Russia. I'm assuming that much of this is lost on me, as a person of non Jewish faith, but the history and the implications of the restrictions on faith in Soviet Russia still mark today. It's a great book. Well done, and really I'm mostly in awe of any person to be that brave, that bold, to take on a country that was (is?) notoriously evil about freedom of religion. There are probably more books that could be written here. ( )
