Emma is a fairly engaging character. She tells the story in the first person. The neighbors are portrayed in a pretty standard fashion. Emma's gay brother is described very matter-of-factly; his sexual preference does not affect the story, so I guess he's just there for some diversity. As a mystery, the story is mediocre. The "bridge tips" mentioned on the cover are for the most basic beginner. ( )
