Fae Tricksters 1
My, oh my, OH MY – Couldn’t put this story down AND wish book two was ready to dive into right now. HOW will I wait to find out what happens next…
What I liked:
* Rain: witch, ancient, battle-scarred, lonely, caring, strong, indomitable, good friend, has a demon familiar, communicates with the trees, impressive, intriguing, potential mate of the Lord of the Lunar Court
* Night: Lord of the Lunar Court, Fae, powerful, seeks peace but feels war approaching, strong, wise, doesn’t believe in love, intriguing man, shapeshifter, mad magic skills, knows Rain is his mate
* Bernard: Rain’s familiar, a demon, shapeshifter, protective, mind-link with Rain, made me smile
* The three women working at The Red Boot – friends, working women, downtrodden but upbeat
* The romance and growing bonding between Rain and Night
* The history and mythology of the story
* The supporting characters like Erikson, Sora, Elayna, and Arne
* The plot, pacing, and writing that drew me in and made me care
* Thinking about what will happen next – I was warned and will warn you that this story is NOT finished on the last page – there is a cliffhanger and it really ‘got me’
* All of it really…and really enjoyed that it had all the ‘feels’
* Knowing there is another book coming out soon
What I didn’t like:
* Who and what I was meant not to like
* Having to wait for the next book
Did I like this book – YES
Would I read more in this series – DEFINITELY
Thank you to the author and BookSiren for the ARC – this is my honest review.
