A beautifully written book. The story line is unique and the characters are relatable. They have doubts and fears that they ultimately relinquish to God! The rebuilding of trust in God was refreshing and encouraging. There is a love aspect as well as an intriguing mystery.
Ruth has many scars, some visible, some not. She struggles with how people see her and she forgets how God sees her. Through the help of family and friends Ruth realizes that she is loved.
I received an ARC copy from the publisher but all thoughts and opinions are my own. ( )

Rating: 5 Stars!!
Review:
Thank you to Bethany House and Librarything for picking me to win this FREE ARC COPY in a giveaway on Librarything.com last month!!

I truly loved this book and series which makes me sad that this was the last book in this series even tho some of the storylines felt like they were still open for a 4th book.

The Characters are still so interesting and intriguing to read about. Ruth was my favorite despite her anger towards others at times about her leg injury but i could understand her frustration.

The Setting was beautifully described which made me feel like i was actually in El Hovar Hotel near The Grand Canyon while reading especially when the scenery was described.

Overall a Good Book 3 in this Series about Secrets of The Grand Canyon!! Can't wait to read more by Kimberley in the future!! ( )

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK
The El Tovar Hotel is in trouble, but who could be the criminal causing so many problems for the hotel? With money missing, several of the employees are afraid of losing their jobsL unless they can help find who the crooked person is.

This is actually my first book by Author Kimberley Woodhouse, so I have not read the first two books in this series. Though I think reading the books in order would be the proper way to read them, the author does a great job of filling everyone in so we don’t get lost in the characters. I enjoyed the intriguing characters and the way they developed as the story unfolds. I really like Ruth and her enduring personality. She is one lady I would definitely want to work with. She and Frank worked together well, and their seeking out whodunit was well worth the read. I didn’t want to put this book down, the plot had me glued to the story until the finish. I love when stories have a lot of twists and turns, and this is one of those stories. It kept me hopping around trying to figure out what was going on. I am giving A Mark of Grace Five Stars! If you enjoy a good Edge of your seat thriller, this one is for you!

A special thanks to the author/publisher and Celebrate Lit for a copy of this book. I am not required to write a positive review, the opinions here are mine alone. I am disclosing this with my review in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255. ( )

Third in her series Secrets of the Canyon, Kimberley Woodhouse creates a masterpiece for A Mark of Grace. I would suggest reading all three books in sequence.

Taking place in 1907 at the El Tovar, a Harvey House hotel and restaurant at the brink of the Grand Canyon, this is head waitress Ruth Anniston’s story. A tragic accident has changed the trajectory of Ruth’s life and causes her to retreat from everyone close to her. At the same time, nefarious plans are afoot at the El Tovar. Will Ruth and her friends wait on God and His timing, or lean upon only themselves?

I cannot say how much I love this novel. Woodhouse hits home on several fronts. How often do we say we trust God… until the going gets rough?

How often do we look for our value in something tangible? We often say we find our value in Christ, but when something valuable is taken away, we often feel worthless and “less-than.”

I love that several of Ruth’s relationships are highlighted:her special friendship with Frank, her love for her parents, her friends like Emma Grace, Julia, Charlotte, and Tessa. These relational elements realistically presented against the backdrop of the beautiful canyon weave together with a strong faith component to create a truly memorable and inspirational novel. Being able to relate to one of the tragic issues in the novel, I loved how Woodhouse’s character finds the strength to deal well with it. That was such an encouragement to me.

I received a copy of the book from Celebrate Lit via NetGalley. No positive review was required, and all opinions are my own.

Notable Quotables:

“Lord, give me strength to handle whatever comes. The prayer grew frailer with each repeat.”

“When would she see how valuable and cherished she was?”

“She’d been pouring out her heart to the Lord for so long. Time was always the word that came to her. Time and wait.”

“Grace. Plus. Nothing.” ( )
