I was drawn to this book because of its introduction when submitting the request for it on LibraryThing. The characters are engaging and the plot is one that felt well-formed.
I would say that the author's vision is powerful, and I love the passion with which he writes, but in the end, I did not read the entire book word-for-word. I read enough to get acquainted with the characters, writing style, flaws, and general plot, though, and I hope that this review will prove helpful to someone.

I was drawn to this book because of its introduction, which I read and found to be both powerful and inspiring, and as I began the story itself, I could definitely see the author's vision for it. The characters are engaging and the plot is one that felt well-formed.

However, one serious thing the author needs to work on is cutting his word count in his editing stages. Oftentimes when we write our first drafts, we are much wordier than we need to be, and that is okay when you're drafting (if you try to edit while also drafting, it may slow down your momentum and inspiration). However, you cannot let the story stay this way because it will almost certainly detract from your story as a whole. I know it can be difficult to cut out paragraphs, sections, and maybe even entire chapters, but in the case of Rescue at Desert's Dawn, it's something that definitely needed to happen before publication but didn't.

Overall, I would say that the author's vision is powerful, and I love the passion with which he writes, but in the end, I did not read the entire book word-for-word.
