This book was a great addition to my fifth grade in class resource class. Although I do not currently have any children with Down Syndrome in my class, it allowed my students a jumping off point to talk about differences and the characteristics of flexibility and being able to value others' ideas and contributions.Esta reseña ha sido escrita por los Primeros Reseñadores de LibraryThing. Wonderful picturebook about siblings and disabilities. Dinah is Chloe's sister who has Down syndrome and how Chloe and her friends learn to play together with her and everyone has a fun time! I love the prompts in the beginning of the story on how you can talk with children about the questions that may come up by the listeners and the addition of sign language included as part of the picture story!Esta reseña ha sido escrita por los Primeros Reseñadores de LibraryThing. This features a main character with down syndrome who uses sign language! I didn't realize that from the description, but I loved the way her sister and friends do their best to include her in their game even if she's messing it up from their perspective. Very sweet and great representation. Esta reseña ha sido escrita por los Primeros Reseñadores de LibraryThing. This story would definitely be relatable to any kid with siblings! I think it does a good job inviting discussion about inclusion and without being too didactic, and I loved the use of sign language throughout the book. There's some nice back matter about Down syndrome included as well. Esta reseña ha sido escrita por los Primeros Reseñadores de LibraryThing. A pretty true to life enactment of a slightly annoyed older sister making pains to include her little sister despite them being on completely different pages. It's a nice illustration of how both girls are feeling and it does resolve with a pretty bow. Big sister's friends appear more understanding than her for most of the story which isn't everyone's experience but could be normal for some families. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
Dinah, a young girl with Down Syndrome, loves to play games with her older sister, Chloe, but her idea of fun differs from the older kids' ideas. Dinah and her not-so-sneaky efforts to join in the game backfire. In the process, the sisters and their friends learn that there's more than one way to play and have a good time!
