I fell in love with the illustrations in this book. The sparse use of words was so perfectly chosen to tell the story of the Gobberwobbly.. It reminded me how magical it is to see the world through the eyes of a child. How those imaginary attachments teach us so much and in letting go and growing up we leave a part of ourselves behind. Bittersweet beautiful and unforgettable. ( )Esta reseña ha sido escrita por los Primeros Reseñadores de LibraryThing. "Gobberwobbly" is a fun little book about a sock-eating monster who is befriended by a child. I love the idea of there being a monster that is the cause of all the missing socks in your house. The watercolour pictures are pretty but I am not a fan of the look of the gobberwobbly. It looks like a monkey stuffed animal and doesn't show any emotion. It is described as "ferocious" and being tamed but I don't think it comes through in the pictures. Overall, a sweet story with whimsical pictures.Esta reseña ha sido escrita por los Primeros Reseñadores de LibraryThing. Who do you blame when all your socks go missing. It couldn’t possibly be that a ferocious sock-eating monster has snuck into your closet. But if one has and you manage to catch him, if you give him food and shelter and treat him kindly, he may just be tamed. And they want to be an adult and go out and do something good with life. All opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased. The Gobberwobbly is a sock-eating monster that lives in the closet but is kind when you take care of him. He eventually grows up just like we do, though. I wish I could find our Gobberwobbly! This book teaches about being kind as well as learning to let go when it’s time. The illustrations are adorable and go well with the story. Esta reseña ha sido escrita por los Primeros Reseñadores de LibraryThing. This a cute story.
