Upset with her parents for arguing on what she hoped would be a perfect day, Amber gets lost at a county fair when she tries to follow her best friend Justin and his family through the crowd. I am not a fan of this book because it is very hard to read. The story line is boring. For example, the author spends 5-6 pages on an incident where there wasn’t enough cereal. Only later do we get to the real action, and even then it was hard to stay interested. I also dislike this book because it has too many abstract concepts. Amber Brown shows signs of atypical social behaviors and her parents are constantly fighting. These are both very heavy subjects to talk about with students. The main message of the book is that not every day will be great, but to look for the positive in each day. Although the author may have been trying to comfort children whose parents fight, the readers may become overwhelmed with the dense subject matter and miss the main message. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
