Audible version more of a multi episode podcast than book… ( ) Summer of '85 is genre bending and hard to define but really good. It's freely available to anyone with an Audible account. It is about the MOVE black power (or cult) group in Philly that resulted in the deaths of over a dozen people including children, sort of a Waco siege situation death by cop. It's also about the Live Aid concert in Philly the same summer to raise money for starving people in Ethiopia. It looks at the irony of good will towards Africans in a city that killed it's African Americans residents. The format is Podcast with short episodes. The length is audiobook at about 5 hours. The content is book-like in depth and research. But it's also journalistic with interviews with people who partook in the events making it a primary source. It's one of the best produced audio recordings I have ever listened to. The credits go on forever it's like a major film. Tons of talent. And it all works, powerful and enlightening. Demonstrates the power of made-for-audio to be more than read text but also to be comparable to the depth of books. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
