All this build up and tension (what little there was) felt so low stakes, and was just brushed away so easily at the end! It feels so cheap to have the main conflict resolved so quickly by a quick fight where the villain escapes again anyways. And like I mentioned for the previous issues, Nijkamp just does NOT write a good Kate voice- at her best Kate ends up sounding cringy and outdated and at worst just bland or uninspired.
While I really loved the idea of this team-up of Kate and Susan, and it was fun to have America and Cassie make an appearance, those things just can’t save this run. It could have been sooooo good, but sadly it just didn’t pan out. I’d love to see more from the artists, Oren Junior and Roberto Poggi, , but I’m begging Marvel to find a writer who can actually write with passion and knowledge about Kate, doing something other than just running around shooting arrows and inner-monologuing.
