I was completely stumped, there were so many ways the book could've gone, so many clues and leads where I honestly had no idea who to trust and who to suspect.... It was a wonderful plot, which is why I was kind of disappointed when it was revealed that not only is Jesse alive, but his disappearance was neither forced nor mysterious, really. The reveal towards the end, with Mr. Thomas, was definitely shocking and interesting, and sort of made up for the earlier disappointment.
