It was a great realistic fiction book. it can show children how excited grandparents are when they were awaiting their arrival for them to be born. It can also show the child how much grandparents care for their grandchildren. This book rhymes for the most part and it flows very well. I Already Know I Love You, in my opinion, was such a beautiful contemporary realistic children’s fictional book. The language, point of view, as well as the illustrations, all allow this book to send a clear message to its readers that a grandparent’s love can be forever unconditional. The language in this book is that of a poem. On average there are four line stanzas on each page where the last word in the second and fourth lines rhyme. This language style fit this book so well. The language is not overwhelming, nor, is it difficult to read. It presents a soft flowing pace! For example, “I’m waiting to show you oceans and explain why the sky is blue. I want to show you that lying is never as good as true.” Next, the point of view is the grandfather-to-be. Thus, the story presents a heartwarming sensation which engages its readers of all ages to enjoy this short, sweet read. The grandfather-to-be is thinking of all the wonderful times he will share with his future grandbaby, and what all he will teach her. I absolutely love that this books point of view is that of a grandfather! Finally, the illustrations that support this book are absolutely lovely. They are so very soft and pleasant. An illustration I adored most in this book is when the grandfather has imagined his granddaughter to be a bit older, maybe two years old, and the two are sharing a bowl of spaghetti. In the illustration they each are slurping different ends of the same noodle, as they stare into each other’s eyes. This illustration could melt your heart! I really just loved how the message of this book was depicted in each illustration. This is a must read! sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
