Overall, the book shares interesting insights and thought-provoking stories. However, some of the details, including photos, appear to be poorly sourced. It's an excellent resource if you're just looking for some inspiration, in the same way a Wikipedia article is a great place to find links to reputable sources, but I would not rely on this book to provide accurate historical information about significant people in history.

A quick and concise explanation of the upbringing, life, and accomplishments of 16 vastly different women in history. From researchers and scientists to bakers and board game makers. I liked that this was packed full of information about the women without being boring or repetitive. Also, I appreciated the diversity of the chosen women. Lastly, I appreciated that the author took the time to state which women had their work stolen from them by men because they were not able to claim their own work, It really makes one think about all the other invention and discoveries that were made by women who never received credit for their work. ( )

Required reading for feminists passionate about innovation, technology and science. ( )

It was unclear to me who the intended audience was for this book. The writing is at an upper elementary/lower middle school level yet many of the words used are higher-level vocabulary words. The images used in the book were not sourced properly and the sources used are not sources that any historian or author would consider credible. I think the book would read better if it were organized in chronological order. The first-person asides were very distracting and interrupted the flow of the book. I would not recommend this book. There are many other options that are more well-written if you are looking for information about female inventors in history. ( )

You’ve probably never heard of most of the 16 women in this book. I know I knew of only two women. I found the book fascinating. Women inventors are often overlooked in history and this book is long overdue. I highly recommend it. ( )
