Continuing his profound analysis of the war's strategy and command that he began with Herman Hattaway in "How the North Won". I found his explanation of the Army Raid method of Grant and Sherman very enlightening. There are no citations. This is not a problem for me as far as factual backup, I trust anything Archer Jones has to say. But it was frustrating to read an interesting quote without being able to reference the source for possible deeper study. ( ) sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
Jones analyzes the conduct of the American Civil War. He argues that Presidents Lincoln and Davis, and their Generals, showed a firm grasp of established military strategy as well as an ability to innovate. He believes the war was decided by strategic skill rather than industrial might. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
