A fairly standard volume of Hinamatsuri has slice of life adventures with the ensemble cast and even a surprising if silly reveal about the place where all the psychokinetic children come from. But it earns a bonus star for the sheer audacity of the next two major turns in the life of Hitomi Mishima, high school CEO. The other stuff is nice, but Hitomi's sections always shock, amuse, and sadden me the most and keep me coming back for more. They keep writing her into corners, but then just let her burst through the walls. ( )
