My three year old nephew loved counting and tracing the letters and numbers throughout the book. It was great practice to help with his fine motor skills. ( )

Lively workbook for beginning writers This workbook gave my 5-year old beginning writer and I plenty to work on throughout the summer preceding kindergarten, and I was pleased to see the range of exercises to promote motor skills. Directional lines, shapes, mazes, upper and lower case letters, and numbers -- all receive just the right amount of practice time, and progress was evident from the beginning, which was very motivating.

Wonderful kid-friendly colorful design, adorable at ease putting picture of an elephant at the beginning where you write your child's name in the book!

Elephant seen again at message to parents page & directions for parents page and of course the beginning of activity 1 Learn to trace lines! BRILLIANT (my daughter instantly zeroed in on this elephant and loved her she said the elephant was going to be her teacher for writing!) I think the elephant helped to get my daughter engaged the second we opened the book!

I absolutely loved the way this book started out giving advice and tips or strategies so to speak to parents because it is very true and I quote "poor habits are easy to develop but extremely difficult to break once established." Another thing I loved about this book was it started out very simple with tracing straight lines, side to side, up & down, diagonally then it moved on to curved lines. From the lines we next learned how to trace shapes again simple first, which kept my daughter from getting frustrated square triangle circle etc just a fantastic format and lay out for this book my daughter & I both enjoyed it.

This workbook has a great deal of variety for children to develop the skills necessary to write letters, numbers and draw lines & shapes. There is an abundance of fantastic tracing activities that are fun & engaging for children as well as allowing them to take pride in the learning process. This was also fun fascinating and heartwarming to watch as well as take part in as a parent, it's hard to put into words the joy I felt watching my little girl grow and aquire life skills before my eyes and seeing the progress she had made in such a short time! SIMPLY AMAZING!

I've taken a little more time with this book than I normally would before posting a review. In my opinion there is a very good reason for this, I simply wanted to take the time to firstly go through the entire book with my daughter, secondly I wanted to take enough time that I could write a fair & honest review of this book. I wanted to be able to say yes this book is worth the money, I personally saw that it helped my daughter and that her dexterity has improved I see a difference in how she holds her crayons etc or if on the flip side it was not something that helped us (which wasn't the case) I wanted to be able to say that fairly as well. So I took more time than usual and made sure I felt comfortable and I without a doubt love this book I saw vast improvement in my daughter's penmanship.

I would recommend this book to any parent with children as young as 3 years old if you can get them to focus and start with the beginning activities the sooner the better I wish I had started sooner with my daughter, she loved this and absolutely made great progress I could see her growth before my very eyes.... phenomenal.

I will be rating this book a 5/5 it was interesting, engaging, educational, fun for both my daughter & myself and it helped to improve my daughter's control of her crayon and pencil practices, I can actually see a huge improvement from pictures she's colored before starting the workbook and pictures she's done after. My daughter couldn't actually print her name properly prior to starting this workbook but she can now! And it's only been just around a month and a half! (Full disclosure we did work in the book every day of that month and a half) My daughter is 4 she starts junior kindergarten in September and she loved working in this book every day that says something to me! She never complained or thought of it in a negative manner (like she does picking up her toys) she really enjoyed the mazes and matching activities as well.

I can't say anything negative about this book, my personal experience with my daughter and working with this fabulous book has been all positive.

I would like to sincerely thank LibraryThing, Early Reviewers, Kakkle Publications & the authors who put so much thought & care into the making of this workbook, for the ARC. I am under no obligation to write a review I have chosen to do so voluntarily, all thoughts, feelings and opinions are my own. ( )

This Learn to Write workbook is colorful and fun. I love that there are visuals and helpful reminders and hints to get the most out of the book. I like that with numbers 1-10 there are the hands in the right corner showing how to hold your fingers to help imitate. I saw a few spots that said to start at the dot and there were none, but with a parent helping the young child, there should be no delay in learning to write! ( )
