Note: I received a digital review copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley. Ellery finds an abandoned magical bicycle and decides to take it home. They mutually grow fond of each other. It travels with her, but she grows apart as she gets older. She ignored the bicycle, and one day the waste collection van arrived in front of the house. Will Ellery break the bond with her bestie? When we were younger, the day we mastered the art of riding a bicycle was celebrated. From then on, the bike became a partner in crime. So when we saw the book Ellery's Magic Bicycle, we couldn't hold back. It's every young bike owner's story told with whimsical illustrations. Excellent addition to a family reading session where so many nostalgias will uncover themselves. Read the full review at Nothing But Picture Books This is a cute book about a young girl named Ellery. She finds a purple bicycle one day and decides to rescue it. Little does she know that the bicycle is magical. It grows with her as she grows up. She uses the bicycle to help her make a new friend. When she is much older, married with a child of her own the bicycle is left alone. She decides to keep the bicycle and rekindles her friendship with the bike. As I read this I thought about things from my childhood that meant so much to me that I kept them into my adult life. This book has such warm tones to it. This is the type of book that I would sit and read to my grandchildren or great-grandchildren. This is a short children's book about a little girl who finds a bicycle. They grow up together, and through life, the bicycle is a friend to the girl. It helps her, protects her, and allows her to make friends. As the girl grows older, the bike is forgotten, and then found again. The story has possibility, but I thought it jumped to a conclusion between the girl and her friend without a connecting piece. I also thought the writing could have been better. I did like the illustrations, they were colorful and sweet. I liked the idea of a bicycle playing a major part in the story, as most children learn to ride a bike and use it for exercise, to gather with friends, and for transportation,. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
