Another part of life that I have been passionate about, in addition to reading voraciously, is eating good food and drinking good wine. I have not read all of M.F. K. Fisher's books, but this one caught my interest recently as I do remember being captivated by her writing style. I find it educated, but easy going and it includes a sense of sharing the experiences of her life in an honest way.

This was the final book in a series of three books about her life and recollections. This one reveals end of life thoughts, philosophy and personal reflections on many topics. The others are:[To Begin Again] and [Stay Me, Oh Comfort Me].

Perhaps sentiment on my part and respect for a life well lived and a career that served her well leads me to award this book three and a half stars. ***1/2 Anyone looking at the process of aging and facing their own mortality (or that of a beloved friend or family member) will identify and perhaps learn that compassion is a valuable quality to experience, both towards oneself and others.

Maybe not a truly stellar offering from MFKF, but, a very compelling read none the less.
